With gay people the nature of the definition of family is always blurred, in fact when covertly asking if someone is gay, one asks if one is “family”. But when one has 2 gay siblings the nature gets further blurred because we have the family we are born into and the one we have chosen. Sometimes our-born family gets totally put to side. Since my dad died and Ali and I have had to deal with mom and worry about Cam the connections to born family have become more important again but my chosen family is still an amazing center of support even if I can’t yet call on it the way I would like to.
