  1. That is fascinating. I remember the pandemic in the late 50s and early 60s. There wasn’t as much fuss made of it, though. Nearly everyone in my class at school was absent at one time, and I know of people who died.
    Let’s hope that this one is going to go the same way as those pandemics, and even if it becomes more able to cope with the human immune system and becomes more transmissible, it will also become less virulent.

    • My grandmother died in the 1918 flu in ghe 1920 surge, so I’ve always been interested. I remember the Hong Kong flu. Everyone in my family got it but me. And mom sent me to school while everyone else stayed home and did jigsaws. I was so jealous. I got a week or so later and had to stay home alone. But what I really remember was when measles, mumps and chicken pox went thru school every year until everyone eventually got it
