Hymn to Brighid

Hymn to Brighid

Brighid, Lady of flame
Forge of me a link
In the chain
Of strong women
Create a song in my heart
Help me heal with love

Sing me a song of flames
Sing me a song of hammer and anvil
Sing me a song of peace
Sing me a song of creation

Make me strong
Make me shiny
Make me tempered
Make me precious.

Sing me a song of flames
Sing me a song of hammer and anvil
Sing me a song of peace
Sing me a song of creation.

Use me to help
Use me to heal
Use me to create
Use me to make real

Sing me a song of morning
Sing me a song of night
Sing me a song of between times
Sing me a song of your light.

I’m here

I’m going to try to write more actual posts more often. I just passed the 2 year mark on my traumatic brain injury and another couple of months to the stroke injury and it’s a slow road back.

I got to go to the Pagan Studies Conference this weekend once again as their official photographer. It really strained my resources especially since I took 3 trains home my first day and walked the short rest of the way. Almost called my sister to assist me the last few blocks but I was too stubborn to do it. I had my off road cane (the quad cane I rarely use) and damn it, I was going to do it. Funny thing, no insomnia that night.

Anyway, I’m sort of ready to join the rest of the world, I even have an idea for a paper next year: Pagans who have had a traumatic brain injury and what changed in their dealings with deities and the liminal?

I’m writing this in a state of acute feline paralysis and she is not happy about it since she’s on my chest. Lol
