This may seem a strange article for a devout Druid to post but he was a friend of my dad in college. The tent meeting in the article was one put on by the church I grew up in Hollywood First Presbyterian church. Somewhere there is a picture of he and my dad in bathing suits on Santa Monica Beach.
I met him more than once as a kid. Once I had to stand and sing behind him Easter Sunday morning in the Hollywood Bowl as I slowly starved to death at the sunrise service because the people in front were eating hot dogs.
Anyway unlike his bastard of a son Franklin, he was a very nice man and according to my dad a bit of a wild child in college.
