A Site of Beautiful Resistance
That was the saddest thing I’ve read in a while … knowing I was ‘different’ from the get-go, knowing I liked girls from the moment I saw my first one, knowing that I was butch (even though it took me a couple of decades to be able to articulate all that) knowing that I would NEVER fit in, allowed me to bypass this kind of horror story. I had my own, of course, we all did/do, but alcohol as anesthetic wasn’t one of them. My anesthetic was, and is, food … and a good stiff cuppa tea, of course. 🙂

Me too, I was always the designated driver, and boy, did people try to get me to drink when we went to the local so I would order milk and just stare at them
