The Erasure of Lesbians

You think I just don't understand, but I don't believe you.

The Erasure of Lesbians

By Alix Dobkin and Sally Tatnall

When, towards the end of the last century, the historic force of feminist consciousness met the primeval juggernaut of lesbian attraction, it fueled the explosive Second Wave. These invisible forces sparked and fueled our declaration of war on patriarchy.

Since they never paid attention to us, the patriarchy wasn’t looking when that fateful meeting occurred, when we Lesbians – the “army of lovers (that) cannot fail” – first claimed our identity loudly, proudly and unabashedly.

The women’s liberation movement was just what Lesbians needed to make their place. Consciousness raising sessions revealed the oppressive structure all women faced. Feminists recognized and named patriarchy, the rule of men, as the creator of hierarchy that would determine all social values. For the first time, all isms were linked. As Audre Lorde once said, “there is no hierarchy of oppression”.

Lesbians took on leadership in creating women’s culture, theory, feminist book stores, rape crisis centers, battered women’s…

MRA Peter Nolan: “Killing women is the only path to justice for men now.”

Yikes!

Peter Andrew Nolan: At war with women Peter Andrew Nolan: At war with women

Men’s Rights Activists love to “warn” women that they may soon face a day of reckoning if they don’t shape up and start acting the way MRAs think they should. Don’t make men angry, they say; you wouldn’t like us when we’re angry!

Still, most MRAs making these “predictions” at least make a token effort to pretend to be horrified at the notion of men rising up to wreak vengeance upon uppity women. This isn’t what we want, they assure women; it’s just what will happen if you continue to “provoke” men with your bad behavior.

Other MRAs find it impossible to contain their glee; like doomsday preppers with well-stocked bunkers and enough ammo to kill every living thing within a 500 mile radius, they can’t wait for the end of the world.

Peter Andrew Nolan is one of these other MRAs…

QotD: “I freaked out because we’re supposed to identify as a gender, right?”

Anti-Porn Feminists

Anonymous asked: i think a lot of “dfab” people ID as nonbinary because transwomen claim that womanhood is an innate feeling, and most girls don’t have some sort of “girl feeling” so they have to say they’re nonbinary to avoid being accused of transmisogyny. also they can’t be trans men because trans men are THE WORST misogynists apparently.

yep yep yep i agree completely. especially because i was totally there once, cause i kept seeing trans women who were like “i’m a woman because i ~feel like one!!” and i was like well shit, i don’t really… feel… like a woman? and i was this close to ~identifying~ as nonbinary lmao

the moral of the story is we mustn’t let males define womanhood

Holy shit, revelation. This makes so much sense. For a time I went around questioning whether I was “really a woman”, because always on Tumblr I…

The usual TMI health adventures

Okay, just got the results of my Chromagrannin A test that I had to wait 90 days for in follow up,  1-5 result is normal, 6 is maybe carcinoid syndrome, AKA Cancer, we have no idea where the fuck it might be. 90 days ago it was a 6, So I had to do a followup in case it was a false positive. I got my results today from the 90 day followup test and it’s a 5, which probably means more testing because this morning I’m still having (TMI) the runs. After a year with no diagnosis to why my nether regions think they have to double as a high pressure hose.

Last time I spoke with my Dr, he mentioned the intestinal MRI again. I hate MRI’s. I’ve had at least 10 and I wasn’t claustrophobic until about number 4? If I have to go again it better be feet first with drugs but I will do it if I can get an answer or we can stop this. I’m tired of planning my life around where the nearest bathroom is and can I get to it on time.

I’m tired to being sick, and I do mean that literally, I’m tired all the time. I find it ironic though that this regular purging has lowered my A1C numbers to within almost normal ranges and same with my liver numbers that used to be too high. No so good on my cholesterol numbers because I only care if something stays down or in at least for a little while so I’m eating anything since the alleged BRAT diet did Jack Squat. It doesn’t matter what I eat the result is the same but I did find another thing I can’t eat in the course of all this, soy. And the fun of that is that soy is being added to everything now because it’s in.

I have had a whole lot of testing in the last year and still no answer. I go to my new PCP tomorrow and then back to my gastro soon. I hate this. I should at least glow in the dark or leak from my veins by now.
