Elder and originator Z Budapest’s official statement to the Dianic Community

Dear sisters!

Ruth Barrett is heartbroken, because she feels I lied to her about the ordination of Claudiney Prieto. I admit I was concerned about her and her power of stirring up a wild bitching fest on the social media against me. Which is what happened. So I told her what was true, but not the entire story.

I have honored Claudiney Prieto in Brazil where he represents the rebirth of Wicca. He indeed received the sacred silk Kata, due to a priest of the Goddess, my most official blessing and his Dianic name which he chose. When I do create an ordination for women, the person to be ordained is LIFTED UP by women, off the ground and turned slowly around as I present them to the four corners of Universe while praying over them. Claudiney was NOT…

Yay! I got an award! Thanks!

What is The Witchy Blog Award all About?

"To combat stereotypes and unfair labeling of Wicca, witchcraft and other neo-Pagan and earth-based faiths, many men and women have taken to the blogsphere to set the record straight and share a bit of their own practice. Wicca is not evil, not associated with the Christian devil and not something to be afraid of. This award was created as a joint effort between myself (Aysln’s Corner) and Cassandra, to honor those Wiccans and witches who have stood up for themselves and the faith as a whole." – Aysln’s Corner-

I was nominated for this award by M Shaffer @ Magikos Musings

I thank you for the honour! It made my day!

· Notify your nominees of their pending award

· Stop by Ayslyn’s Corner to add your name to the list of bloggers awarded

Seven Questions: (You may customize as long as they are still Wiccan and Pagan related)

· How did you “discover” Wicca/witchcraft/Neo-Paganism?

I had already been trained in the “family ways” by my grandmother but after she died, I ignored it and tried to fit in at my parent’s church but when I came out as a lesbian (1979) it was clear they no longer wanted anything to do with me there and I was adrift and I was in college studying to be a Naturalist. I started to become out of control empathically and telepathically and every psychic way after I got struck by lightning and couldn’t filter or shield. A friend who was a Dianic had been throwing Z’s first book at me for a year back when it looked more like a newsletter in a plain yellow paper cover and I kept throwing it back but when I couldn’t shut anyone out anymore she gave me an address to go to, to talk to her HP. Being Kathy she gave me the wrong address. Somehow I found the correct address, still not sure quite how I did it because it was 1983, and it was the wrong neighborhood to go looking for a pay phone at night and there were no cell phones to call for help, so I pulled out the Thomas Brothers and picked the one on a street called Broomfield (made sense to me since I was going to meet a witch) but I got there and a very intimidating woman and Kathy answered the door. The woman turned to Kathy and said, “I told you if she was meant to find it, she would.” and that was how I met my first HP.

· Are you “in the broom closet”?

No, but the whole world doesn’t need to know either.

· What tradition do you follow, if any?

Now, primarily Druid, Started out Dianic and when the Green Man called me I accepted and had to become a little more inclusive but being a DCD Druid is more in line with what my grandmother taught me growing up and is what I do now.

· Do you consider yourself a witch, Wiccan or Pagan (or maybe something else?

A Wiccan/ Druid with Dianic tendencies.

· How much of witchcraft/Wicca magic are you able to incorporate into your everyday life?

All of it.

· Do you have a familiar? If you do, tell us how you meet him/her and how s/he takes part in your practice (if at all).

I have had a familiar, my beloved Samhain kitty but when he died, the Liathfaol was given to me (rescued) and she is a companion and not a familiar and really has no interest in magical readings. Samhain could even read tarot and could be a little freaky about it and still is around when he wants to be so that may be why Liath is not a familiar but she has been there now through losing my mom and dad and little brother and losing close friends. She was there when I was unemployed for 5 ½ years so she is my comforter because after 30 years in the craft I don’t necessarily need a familiar and since Samhain is till around when he chooses, it’s find with me.
