This is an added component to shielding techniques.

Ever had a headache out of the blue or something is feeling not quite right? Rub or pass your hand over the top of your head. I tend to do this in crowds or at work or at big events. So what if people think you are always brushing your hair back. If you are bald or have shaved your head, you can still rub the top of your head.

Anyway, pass your hand over the top of your head directly over your crown chakra. Note: not everybody’s crown chakra is right at the top of the head sometimes it has slid a little to the back or the side. Usually the back toward one of your hair whorls if it isn’t right on top. Your halo has just slid, ::joke:::.

Well, did something feel as if it let go? One of two things may have been happening. One, You have been sending energy out to someone or just gotten a bit aggressive about feeling what was going on in your environment. Or, two, someone else is feeling the need to make contact with you.

If it’s number two, it can be good or bad and you may need to sit and figure out which that might be. It can be anything from one of your children wanting to be connected to mom or dad at that moment to someone who actively does not like you and has a problem with you and may not know they are doing it. It may be someone at work is pissed at you and they are probably not conscious they are doing it to someone who knows what they are doing, this is how hexes generally work. The good thing is, it’s easy to stop and send it all back where it came from.

This connection is the real reason you know someone you love is in trouble before the phone rings to tell you. People in trouble naturally reach out, kids do it without thinking. People also can do it in their sleep.

So, brush your hand over your hair, if nothing happens you may just have a headache but should you feel a slight pop or a loosening someone is connected to you and you have broken the connection. If it has felt negative – go wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Shake your hands out. In other words, get rid of it and if you want to block it? Imagine a hat or helmet over your head. Anything between your and the outside energy. Or you can imagine a fountain of white light out the top of your head and out to the universe and back to grounding. That should be enough to break any negative connection.

If it’s your kid, time to teach them how to ground and center, first and then, call mom if they still need you but not before.

This technique also can work if you have insomnia and can’t disengage from the waking world. That it occurs when you are the one out and roaming around. Come back to your body and go to sleep.

Wonderful ritual and day at Isis’ Beach

We had an absolutely glorious day and ritual on the beach celebrating Isis’ birthday and honouring our Hieromum. Some of us got there early to set up when the marine layer hadn’t quite dissipated. We set up the altar on the sand and then four of us that were setting up went down to the water and called the dolphins to come.

And then every one started to arrive in dressed in the colours of the ocean that reflected back the sea and sky. This is the first Iseum and Lyceum’s birthday ritual too so we call the Sisters of the sea that we started by, Mari, Isis, Nepthys, Brighid, Yemaya, Quan Yin, Aphrodite and then the dolphins came and danced in the waves for us much to our and the surfers who were there’s delight and then they were gone. D had created a beautiful new song from one of Laura’s poems that made our hair stand on end. It will be lovely at Laura’s memorial. We asked our traditional question “Isis, how old are you?” and opened heaven’s Gate.

We built our traditional mermaid and offering to the sea. We sang the knot of Isis and were bid farewell to the goddesses and made offerings to the sea and enjoyed each other’s company. We always do this in the early morning because more people aren’t there and it’s fairly quiet. Not that quiet as Isis’ beach is Isadore Dockweiler beach and that just happens to be directly under the flight path at LAX so we just shake our sistrums and rattles when the planes take off overhead.

After ritual and enjoying the beach we adjourned to Hurry Currie in Venice and had lunch. I was excited to see that not only do the carry Indian grocery items, they carry all kinds of British items like Bisto and barley water and my vice, Smarties. No bacon crisps, though. L I drawn the line at prawn and beef and onion, ick.

We know Laura was there because it went so smoothly and she brought the dolphins. Wonderful day.

Page of Stones

The colours of the goldcrest -red, white, green and black -were once held to be sacred and the common wren was considered a guardian of the winter mysteries. Druids kept wrens as totem animals of augury and prophesy and ritually sacrificed them on St Stephen’s Day (26 December).

Someone who speaks with a quiet but persistent voice of secrets and mysteries that elude others, who may be shy, and underestimated; but should not be overlooked.

Someone who loves nature, and is gently aware of its subtleties, and has ‘their ear close to the ground.

Prayer for a morning at the beach.

I ask for blessings from the deep and pacific ocean

All this morning and all through the night.

Blessings of cool breezes

The feel of warm sand on our feet

The calm but active blues and greens of water and sky

The rush of the waves at the edge of the tides

The joy of the dolphins who visit

The speed of the flock of pelicans

The dance of the sandpipers and dowitchers

The cries of the seagulls

The companionship of loving friends

The creativity and magic of ritual

Be with us all the day and through our week.
