Fundies aren’t very bright

It’s rather odd being persecuted by people who are convinced that your very existence in the world makes them persecuted. Nothing you can say will dissuade them that you have a right to exist. They always bring up the god damn lion’s den and when you point out that more pagans died in the lion’s den than Christians they really can’t handle it.

I’m firmly convinced that a great part of Fundies mental make up is being firmly convinced they are persecuted. Nothing and certainly no common sense presented calmly works. They will quote “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” And when you point out the Hebrew usually is translated “Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live.” They get really bent.

Because you see they also tend to believe the Bible was really written in English. That one always makes me shudder.

They hunt and peck for the parts that confirm their particular set of beliefs and they have often only ever read those bits so if you quote scripture at the them they get angry especially if you are very calm about it and they are yelling.

I love when they quote Shakespeare and think it’s the Bible, case in point the phrase ‘even the devil can quote scripture’ is from Merchant of Venice.

Mark you this, Bassanio,

The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.

An evil soul producing holy witness

Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,

A goodly apple rotten at the heart:

O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!

They get really pissed off about that one.

I had a life in hell for about a year with these loonies and the only thing that saved it was I had seniority over all of them. I lived in almost total isolation in a room with 15 other people that weren’t allowed to talk to me because they were more scared of Melrene than me. The only time I was spoken to was when they needed info I had. It was lonely rather maddening until it ended but I did manage to amuse myself sometimes.

Today’s reading

Breath of Life

Ace of Arrows

The Uffington chalk hill figure breathing the vital of life -a renewal of vitality combined with knowledge of where you wish to be and how to g there.

Tender and gentle love that revives one with the ‘kiss’ of life. Renewal of inspiration, a reconnection to life, truth and wisdom, spoken from the horse mouth.

Bad Fire day and Bad Spanish/Chumash

I just heard the national CBS radio butcher the place names from our big fire out here so should you feel the need to say these names out loud.

Camarillo – Cam uh ree oh

Point Mugu – It’s Magoo as in Mr Magoo not Moogoo like Mushu pork. That one made me spit my tea.

Port Hueneme – Why knee mee not whatever the hell he said.

It’s supposed to be over a 100 degrees today and they only have the fire 10% contained and the winds are coming up again now which is what drove the fire yesterday from the 40 acres it was when I got to work to the 10,000 acres it is 24 hours later. Bad Fire day.
