More thoughts on the Elements or I get practical and physical on your ass

Further thoughts on the Elements.

If you have certain chronic diseases, they will have their own elemental signatures. And these are just my own ideas. Things may vary according to the person or even area. Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear.

These can often be dealt with when making peace with them by drawing in an element on the next turn of the wheel, either in attitude or by herbs of that element.

For instance, a stomach problem may be an earth problem or a fire problem so adding air to the earth or water to the fire problem can help. This is not unlike paying scissors, paper rock. Water puts out fire.

So Arthritis is a problem of Fire. At least it is for me. Water has always been my solution. For instance being in water takes the weight off the joint that is screaming. So will a good rub with eucalyptus oil.

This also works with a cold where you have a fever and trouble breathing. I put eucalyptus oil or Vicks on the shower head and turn on the water. This is water in Air to fight Fire.

The key is not to be balanced because balance is stagnant and not active and it resists action. The key is to be aware of the elements and how they interact in the dance. If you are sitting foursquare on the elements and striving to be in balance you have created inertia and it takes a lot more energy to get moving again. Remember your physics? Things at rest must be acted upon by an outside force. An object in motion will remain in motion until acted upon by that outside force.

That is Newton’s first law: An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

Newton’s second law: The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

What did you think magic didn’t work on physical principles? Newton was an alchemist. Even thought the Royal Society tried to suppress it he wrote a great deal on alchemical principles. So he would have been familiar with how the elements worked. Or at least he did discover that the earth sucked aka gravity works.

  1. I agree. Arthritis is definitely Fire. (Joint inFLAMation). Bones are Earth, Arthritis is Fire. Fire in Earth, where it doesn’t belong.

I’m not sure yet what all this means. I’m going to have to go through Newton’s stuff more carefully, but you have provided me with some good insight here.
