Allow me to lift up, here, Sandy Neilson:
Sandra (“Sandy”) Neilson-Bell (born March 20, 1956 in Burbank, California) Sandra Neilson set a CIFSS record in 1972 for Freestyle 50 yards and also in Free Style 100 yards for El Monte High School. She is a former freestyle swimmer from the United States, who won three golden medals as a 16-year old at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany. One of those golden medals came in the 100m Freestyle, where Neilson defeated favorites Shane Gould from Australia and her USA teammate Shirley Babashoff.
In 1986 she was inducted in the International Swimming Hall of Fame. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandra_Neilson)
