They sent this out at work. I thought maybe my activist genes were asleep, No, they were lying in wait for the right moment. I found out I could go from 0 to activist in about 10 seconds.
To associates in Fresno, Huntington Beach, Pasadena, Rancho Cordova (Aerojet and Gold Pointe ), San Bernardino and Woodland Hills
On Tuesday October 24, Health Net will celebrate its 4th annual Heritage Exhibit Day – a time when associates learn about each other’s diverse backgrounds through a collective display of personal items that represents their culture, age, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity or life experiences.
Heritage Day began in Woodland Hills four years ago and has expanded to seven locations this year. For the first time, associates in Huntington Beach, Fresno and Rancho Cordova-Aerojet will celebrate Heritage Exhibit Day along with associates in Pasadena, Rancho Cordova-Gold Pointe, San Bernardino and Woodland Hills.
In previous years, exhibits ranged from family tree documents, cultural artifacts, family photos, toy collections, works of art, articles of clothing, jewelry, music and traditional dance attire.
Here are some questions to ask yourself to begin creating your display:
· What connects you to your family past/history?
· What do you identify as you family’s region of origin?
· What are some unique or interesting aspects of your heritage?
· What are some interesting traditions you or your family strive to preserve?
· How do you celebrate certain holidays, birthdays or other traditional festivals?
The Heritage Exhibit Day will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to all associates. To participate, simply print and fill out the entry form below and send it in the interoffice mail to the appropriate contact to arrive no later than Wednesday, October 18.
So a co-worker and I applied to do a GLBT booth. IF this was met favourably I was going to apply to do a pagan/Wiccan/Druid booth with another friend who just happens to be upper level management.
We would like to enter an exhibit for the Woodland Hills site that discusses why as HN employees we are proud of our sexual orientation.
Please provide us with the display guidelines or any other information we may need to know.
This was out first answer which they didn’t know they had given since the person forgot to take me off the distribution list:
Which one of you would like to respond back to Glenn, letting him know that the Heritage Exhibit Day is about one’s “heritage” not sexual orientation.
I think we probably call him? your thoughts?
