Alison and I decided to take next Monday off rather than sit at work on day after Cam’s death anniversary and burst into tears at inappropriate moments.

Now we have to decide what we are going to do. Ali wants to go to Disneyland because we used to do that as a family a lot. Part of me wants to and part doesn’t ’cause the damn firework show with Tinkerfell about destroyed me at Christmas. All that stuff about your wishes coming true when I know the wish I want most can’t come true.

Before she decided that I was thinking about going to a garden but most are closed on Mondays like Huntington or SRF. I know I don’t want to stay home and I want to do something he would have enjoyed doing with us.

This is a tale of a hike up Mt San Gorgonio from Camp Osito Rancho and I had the honor of singing one night at campfire to it’s author.

Moon on the Meadow
Moon on the meadow, bugs in our ears
Smoke in our eyes, wet wood and tears
On up the meadow, water somewhere
We were the only ones there.

Wild horse to Slushy, Dry Lake, the Peak
Finding the love everyone seeks.
Hiking to rainbows, sunsets and stars
Just finding out who we are.

We will return here, one lucky day
Our hearts will guide us, they know the way
People in cities don’t understand
Falling in love with the land

Moon on the meadow, bugs in our ears
Smoke in our eyes, wet wood and tears
On up the meadow, water somewhere
With you my friend, I am there.

And by her friend, Rusty

Memories linger forever when all else dies
Meeting and living and happy goodbyes
Farewell til we meet again, my friend
Take care of you.

Oh golden are special memories kept close to your heart
special to you
Oh cherish,I’ll cherish my memories of you,
my friend special, special are you.

Arrghhhh another camp song

But not near as lovely.

We are a bloody pirate band
The most ferocious in the land
We cut off arms and legs and feet
In order that we may eat meat
Raw meat!

Nightly we roam the Carib shore
That’s where we spill our filthy gore
Slime! Bodies slithering in the deep
The lives of men are cheap
Most cheap!
