Of course the first time we went it was 116 and last year it was raining but it is a fanstastically fun games which has sheep dog trials which most don’t anymore.

Voting

On this day in 1972 I was more excited than I was on my 18th birthday 4 days before and more excited than I was about graduating in a few weeks. Why? Because 1972 was the first year 18 year old were allowed to vote and I was about to vote in my first Presidential Primary and my very first election. You were allowed to register so many days before your birthday that I got to vote very close to my birthday. That year everyone in my class was wearing clothes with VOTE written all over them. I still always vote but that day was very special even if I was stupid enough to vote for Richard Nixon’s re-election.
