Went out at lunch, it wasn’t raining. Came out of Fry’s after getting yet another version of MahJongg and it’s pouring. Got back to work and had left book I’m reading in car. Can’t eat lunch without book. Back out in rain.

Miserable wet Kat. Jacket locked in trunk and I just have a longsleeve custom selected brand new StarWars.com t-shirt.

Wet, cold Kat.

I’m hoping to go to the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine tomorrow but it has to stop raining because going over the hill to a garden in the rain is nuts. And I’m hoping Mary and Denise are going to join me. Hint Hint….

Because I’m in the mood

Epona’s Credo

I believe in rolling seas
I believe in growing trees
I believe in things that bloom
I believe in the changing Moon.

Refrain : And all these things that I see
Come out of the air that I breathe
They come from the fire and earth
These things that I hold of worth.

I believe in faerie’s dreams
I believe in elven schemes
I believe that stones can dance
I believe there is more than chance.

Refrain

I believe in my sisters’ songs
I believe they can make me strong
I believe the wheel has turned
This time we will not be burned.

Refrain

I believe in the eagle’s flight
I’ve flown with the owl at night
I listen to the raven’s call
There is wisdom there for all

Refrain

I believe my hands can heal
That the Goddess in the mirror is real
I believe I have to sing
That is how my soul takes wing.

Being a non-Christian now it seems strange to reflect that Good Friday is one of the 2 holidays I miss in the Christian holiday calendar. The other being Christmas Eve and for the same reason. They were the only days as a small child in church I ever felt the awe or magic of what was possible . Now I can have that feeling all the time if I wish it or on our eight holidays. But sometimes I miss the small child feeling of sitting in the dark in a big building with a multitude of people and feeling like a big mystery was taking place.

I also miss the music. Some people think that DuBois’s “Seven Last Words” is romantic and maybe cheesy. But I used to love it. I also remember the time Cam and I were Altar kids lighting a candle for each of the words. And I remember when I was real small trying to count the words and thinking there were way more than seven, couldn’t they count?

So to those you celebrate this night of wonder in your faith, blessings.

I’m excited! J.K. Rowling was a former Girl Guide in Scotland. http://www.girlguidingscotland.org.uk/home/home.htm. Nice to know she was a Scout. (program note from your sponsor – for those who don’t know. Girl Guides are the same as Girl Scouts in the USA. Juliette Lowe got the idea there from Lady Baden Powell and brought it home to Savannah Georgia.)
Yeah! WAGGGS!

Okay, will calm down and stop being green-blooded unless I put on my Vulcan hat later. Live long and Prosper!

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God* and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

* The word “God” can be interpreted in a number of ways, depending on one’s spiritual beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise, it is okay to replace the word “God” with whatever word your spiritual beliefs dictate.
