An open letter to President W Bush

Dear President Bush,

Please contact the Girl Scouts of the USA to immediately take over FEMA and Federal disaster relief efforts.

Any troop with of Senior or Junior scouts for that matter will do. All of them are trained in First Aid, thinking ahead, respect for the people they help and good old fashioned common sense.

They are trained to make meals with no gas or electricity. They know how to build shelters and design and establish latrines. They know the proper disposal of waste. They know child care, and care for the elderly and the environment. They have learned to cloth themselves and others. They can read maps and find places that no longer are accessible by road and ride a horse to get there. Most can make a bandana do duty for at least 10 uses. They will do this cheerfully and with a silly song and a smile which is more than I can say for the whiners and excuse makers you have working for you.

They do not require you attend church to get aid nor would they bill you later for their services.

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Please call ASAP

sincerely,

Mary Beth Robb
